FAQ
Frequently asked questions
If your question isn't answered here, just message me on Telegram.
How do I sign up for a trip?
Message me on Telegram — I'll tell you what's coming up, answer your questions and hold a place for you. Every trip is announced on the channel first.
What does the price include?
For day hikes the price covers transport and guiding. Entry tickets to castles, caves and nature reserves are paid separately unless stated otherwise. Food is always your own.
How big are the groups?
Usually ten to fifteen. That's the size where the group is fun but everybody still gets to know each other. Places go quickly, so it's worth writing early.
Is there a student discount?
Yes, on almost every day hike. The student rate is usually 100–200 CZK below the standard one; the exact figure is in each trip announcement.
Where do we meet?
At a Prague metro station — most often Hlavní nádraží, Černý Most, Roztyly, Dejvická or Střížkov. The exact spot and time are always in the announcement.
How difficult are the routes?
Every trip states its difficulty: easy, moderate or hard. A typical day route is 10–14 km on forest and hill trails. If you're unsure, write to me and I'll suggest something that fits.
What should I bring?
Comfortable trail shoes, water, a snack and clothing for the weather. Warm layers and a hat for winter mountains, a torch for mines and caves. Anything specific I'll remind you about before we set off.
How do we get around?
By train or by car, depending on the route. Trips abroad may involve a flight plus rented cars. The method is always stated in the announcement.
Are there free hikes?
Yes. There are regular free walks around Prague — Divoká Šárka, Prokopské údolí, Průhonice. They're an easy way to meet the group before going somewhere further.
Do you run trips abroad?
Yes. Past trips have gone to the High Tatras, North Macedonia, Mallorca, the Calanques near Marseille, Resegone in Italy, Poland, Iceland and Jordan. They run from two days to a week.
Can I join if I don't speak Russian?
Yes. English-language trips are one of the project's main directions right now. Write to me and we'll find a trip where the group speaks English.
I'd be coming on my own — is that fine?
Completely. Most people come on their own, and meeting new people is half the point of the whole thing.
